Joining Instructions

Please download and print these joining instructions (especially the map) before attending your course, as there may be no 3G coverage for your mobile device in the forest and this page will therefore not be available to you.

Start Times:

All courses start at 9am prompt at Mid Hope workshop ,Mid Hope, Hopeton Estate.

Clothing:

Clothing should be warm, waterproof and close fitting without loose cords

Food and Drink

Please bring packed lunch/snacks and plenty of liquids

Equipment

Please refer to the individual course equipment requirements.

  • You must provide your own PPE equipment.
  • We provide chainsaws free of charge
  • Full climbing kits are available for hire.

 

Directions

From the Forth Road Bridge:

 

Follow signs for the A 904 towards Linlithgow. Travel along the A904 through the village of Newton past the garden centre on the right.
Take the next right turn sign-posted Hopetoun Sawmill, Abercorn and Midhope.
Stay on this road and take the 2nd left which is a sharp left downhill back on yourself. Drive past the fireworks store on the right and stay on the road up the hill towards an old castle.
Come past the castle and into the old farm yard. You have now arrived.

 

From M9 Glasgow:

 

Take junction number 2 and at the end of the slip road turn left. At the T- junction turn right.
Continue along this road past the lay-by and take the next road on the left sign-posted Hopetoun Sawmill, Abercorn and Midhope.
Stay on this road and take the 2nd left which is a sharp left downhill back on yourself. Drive past the firework store on the right and stay on the road up the hill towards an old castle.
Come past the castle and into the old farm yard. You have now arrived.
