- Operator safety & protection.
- Assessing lying, windblown and broken timber and deciding on appropriate action.
- Environmental & Legal requirements.
- Cutting windblown trees using appropriate techniques.
- Operating a winch to control movement of root plates

City & Guilds (NPTC) Assessment:1 Day
Total 3 Days
Maximum Group Size: 4 Candidates
Candidates must hold NPTC 201,202,203 & 301 (CS30, CS31 & CS32) and be experienced chainsaw operators.
Cost includes all registration, assessment and certification fees
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- Clothing-to suit weather conditions with high flexibility.
- Chainsaw Combination Helmet (EN 397 or EN 12492)
- Chainsaw Trousers (EN 380-5. Minimum protection Type A-Class 1-20m/s) (Get Type C if you intend to progress to Chainsaw from Rope & Harness)
- Gloves appropriate to the task
- Chainsaw Protective Boots (BS EN ISO 20345: 2004-EN 381-3)
- Personal first aid kit, including a large wound dressing.
PPE must be CE Marked with chainsaw logo, in good condition and undamaged.
