Prerequisites:You must have completed a Chainsaw Maintenance, Cross-cutting, Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm course before attending the refresher (NPTC 201 & 202)

Course Content:
- Workshop & Site safety including Risk Assessment
- Operator safety & protection
- Chainsaw Maintenance
- Engine systems
- Drive systems
- Guide bars
- Saw chains
- Fuelling, starting & pre-cutting checks
- Environmental & Legal requirements
- Fell, takedown & de-limb trees up to 380mm diameter
- Measuring & Cross-cutting timber
- Presenting timber for habitat and extraction
- Use of felling and handling aid tools
This is a LANTRA integrated assessed course.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- Clothing-to suit weather conditions with high flexibility.
- Chainsaw Combination Helmet (EN 397 or EN 12492)
- Chainsaw Trousers (EN 380-5. Minimum protection Type A-Class 1-20m/s) (Get Type C if you intend to progress to Chainsaw from Rope & Harness)
- Gloves appropriate to the task
- Chainsaw Protective Boots (BS EN ISO 20345: 2004-EN 381-3)
- Personal first aid kit, including a large wound dressing.
- Please bring insect repellent
- Wednesday and Thursday Training days are at our woodland site near Port of Mentith. If there is a problem with transport please contact us prior to attending the course.
PPE must be CE Marked with chainsaw logo, in good condition and undamaged.
